Dog owners are encouraged to have their dogs Kiwi Aversion Trained

Kiwi Aversion Training for Dogs is open to all dogs and their owners. Participation is $10 per dog and it only takes 10 to 15 minutes per dog.

Urban dog owners, and landowners and lifestyle block owners with dogs near the kiwi areas of Kohi Point, Mokorua, Waiotane and Ohope Scenic Reserve are encouraged to have their dogs Kiwi Aversion Trained.

Hunters who hunt on land administered by the Department of Conservation must have a current Kiwi Aversion Training certificate to obtain a hunting permit.

Even if your dog is Kiwi Aversion Trained you cannot take the dog into Kiwi Zones. Dogs in this district are not allowed in Kiwi Zones.
