Robert’s first haircut!
“Hi, My name is Robert Sanderson. Every second week I follow my Mum and Dad when they maintain a trap line as volunteers for the Whakatāne Kiwi trust. I like Kiwi birds and Bridget let me pat one once! It was cute and fluffy.
I am going to be 5 years old on the 25th of September this year. Since I was born, I have never had a haircut because my mum was impressed by the Polynesian practice of a ceremonial first haircut. One aspect of these events is often to gather money for a worthy cause.
My family and I have decided to have my first haircut just before I go to school, and to take this opportunity to fund raise for the Whakatāne Kiwi Trust.
Please can you be my sponsor and donate to this awesome organisation? All the money raised will be used for things like predator control, radio tracking equipment and health check-ups for Kiwi birds.
I will have my haircut on Sunday the 23rd of September – the last day of conservation week.
Thank you very much for your support!”
